Members by Hospice and Palliative Care Activity
What this is: every Member of Congress (current or former) who has sponsored or cosponsored hospice or palliative care legislation since 2020, or signed a hospice or palliative care letter, matched to the race they're in this November, whether defending their seat or running for another one.
How to read it: races are grouped by how competitive they are (Tossups, Competitive, Safe). Leaving means the Member isn't on the ballot for that seat (retiring, lost a primary, or running for another office). View items lists a Member's bills and letters. Core bills are about hospice or palliative care; Substantive bills contain a provision touching it, such as telehealth or VA benefits. Use the filters to narrow to Members with Core bills, Members who led a bill, or letter signers.
Challengers with a health care background
What this is: House and Senate races this November where one of the top two nominees is a challenger or open-seat candidate with a health care background: physicians, nurses, pharmacy professionals and other health professions. Sitting Members aren't listed.
How to read it: races are grouped by how likely the health care candidate is to win, based on the consensus forecaster rating seen from their side: Favored (Safe or Likely for their party), Leaning their way, Tossup, Underdog (Lean toward the other party) and Long shot (Likely or Safe for the other party). California races between two candidates of the same party are listed separately, since the rating can't tell them apart. Use the filters to narrow by profession, or to open seats and races against an incumbent.
